Time
Management Tips

We
all have only 24-hours a day, yet it is amazing how much some people manage
to achieve within this daily time, and others ...well, so little.
Good time management is the reason successful people manage to accomplish so
much. Why not try the following if you want to get more done in your day?
- Set
goals - Time management begins with identifying your goals. Once you have
identified your goals, it is easy to set your priorities and make good decisions.
- Planning
your month, week & day will help ensure you do what you need to do, and
you will be able to fit "other appointments" around your main priority
tasks.
- Lists
- At the start of each day, jot down what needs to be done according to your
goals & priorities. Break it up into sections, such as "Email",
"Call", "Fax". If you tend to move around alot, it might
be worth jotting down the various locations so that you manage to do everything
you need to do in each area.
- Allocate
time to focus on one thing at a time, e.g. sending off several emails
at once, making a series of uninterrupted calls. By staying focussed on one
"category", you will be amazed at how more effective you become.
- Disciplined
- A vital ingredient to the recipe of success. Do what you need to do when
you need to do it. This is made much easier by having identified your goals,
prioritising and staying focussed.
Most
important is to enjoy the rewards of your time management - whether it be time
to relax, be with loved ones, have time for a hobby or sport, or just not having
to worry about what has not been done!
